The promise of longevity research won’t be realized with a bang. It’s already unfolding, quietly and gradually, in mouse studies and human clinical trials, buried in dense research articles and preprints.

Each week, new findings emerge on senolytics, mitochondrial enhancers, epigenetic reprogrammers, and more. While some of these interventions are decades away from real-world use, others are ready right now—from smart supplement regimens and lifestyle tweaks to off-label use of existing prescription drugs.

Many (if not most) longevity scientists have already adopted at least one intervention in their own lives, confident that it will buy them additional years of healthy living. But they’ve done a remarkably poor job of teaching the public how to do the same.

That’s where Translation comes in.

Why I’m Writing This

I’ve spent my career at the intersection of academia and pharma, turning promising research into real treatments. My specialty is translational science—bridging the gap between lab discoveries and human health.

Years ago, while searching for new drugs to treat rare lysosomal storage disorders, something clicked for me. Many of the drugs that we discovered not only helped diseased cells, they made healthy cells even healthier. Could the same be true in people?

That question sent me down a years-long rabbit hole of longevity science.

In the lab, I began pushing our drug development work in new directions—applying lysosomal therapeutics to preventative use cases. Outside the lab, I spent hundreds of hours reading foundational aging research and comparing seminal studies with the latest findings.

I also discovered a growing community of biohackers and longevity enthusiasts testing new compounds and tracking their progress with biomarkers. I explored and tweaked their protocols, tested a few on myself, and came out the other side not just healthier, but with a systems-level understanding of what actually works.

Eventually, I began writing a book to synthesize everything I’d learned. But the field is moving too fast for a book alone. And some of the most interesting material doesn’t quite belong there.

That’s why I started Translation—a place to discuss the most important developments in aging, metabolism, cellular repair, and healthspan-enhancing therapeutics, all through a clear, actionable lens.
